Located minutes from Denver, Greenwood Village and Cherry Hills Village, two neighboring Colorado regions that are regularly listed among the most affluent cities in the United States, are home to beautiful rolling hills and an abundance of luxurious estates. A haven for celebrities and the wealthy, this combined 14 square mile area has about 22,000 residents and is coveted for its mountain range backdrop and serene, private elegance.
 
Homes in Cherry Hills Village range from simple ranches and brick colonials to more elaborate English manor-style properties. Acreages of land are the most significant selling feature, and houses are situated in various scenic locations, including golf courses and hiking trails. Prices start in the low millions and extend to as high as $18 million.
 
Greenwood Village has all of the benefits of big city living combined with a tranquil suburban vibe. Consisting of 8.1 square miles, this area features 22 parks, 26.8 miles of trails, and 184 acres of open spaces.
 
There is a country feel to these towns, but residents still enjoy convenient access to the city—Downtown Denver is only 30 minutes away. Several premier shopping districts are located nearby—the Denver Tech Center is the most effortless commute, clocking in as a five- to ten-minute car ride away.

A renowned school system and a high level of seclusion and privacy contribute to this community’s draw. Families are drawn to the quiet seclusion of Greenwood Village, but many young professionals also choose this area thanks to its proximity to the city. Both suburban oases are favored by those who love the outdoors: The 71-mile High Line Canal waterway dissects Cherry Hills and is a popular spot for biking and walking.

There are many attractions in Greenwood and Cherry Hills Village, and Shanahan’s Steakhouse is among them. Co-owned by former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan, the restaurant has the coach’s Lombardi trophies on display and serves some of the best steaks and seafood. Wine connoisseurs can choose from over 4,000 different varieties of red and 1,400 types of white.
 
Local Greenwood Village favorites include Ocean Prime, an upscale chain known for its sophisticated decor, long wine list and classic steak and seafood menu, and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, a lavishly outfitted chain restaurant specializing in prime steaks and seafood and fine wines. Eddie V’s Seafood is a stylish and sophisticated fine dining experience that delivers artistically prepared dishes and features an ever-changing array of seasonal seafood and critically acclaimed prime steaks.
 
Duffeyroll Bakery & Cafe sells unique, mouthwatering cinnamon rolls, while Cherry Crest Seafood is a simple strip-mall spot with both counter and table service. Jing, an ultra-chic hotspot for contemporary Asian eats with a fusion bent, is located in The Landmark at Greenwood Village, a retail center near the Denver Tech Center area of Colorado. Offering retailers, restaurants, and entertainment services, the space is beautifully landscaped with flowering shrubs and ornamental grasses.
 
At Happy Canyon Shopping Center, shoppers will find retailers and franchises like Marczyk Fine Foods, Duffeyroll Bakery, Starbucks, and Orange Theory.
 
Home to nine USGA competitions and three PGA Championships, the Cherry Hills Country Club has hosted some of golf’s top players. Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Phil Mickelson have all golfed here.
 

Things to Do

 
Outdoor activities abound in Cherry Hills Village. John Meade Park, which contains a picnic shelter, restrooms, and a play area, was recently renovated to include fishing piers at both ponds, a boardwalk through the wetlands, and 125 new trees that will grow up to provide plenty of shade. On the Alan Hutto Memorial Commons side, there is a concrete performance area, pathways, and terraced grass amphitheater.
 
Cherry Creek Trail, a picturesque 40-mile route that begins in downtown Denver and connects suburban and rural Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, including the communities of Parker, Centennial, and Franktown, runs through Cherry Hill Village.
 
Many events are hosted in these outdoor spaces, including summer movie nights, an annual exotic car show, and a winter celebration, including tree lighting, hayrides, and storytelling with Santa.
 
Boasting 22 different parks, Greenwood Village offers plenty in terms of outdoor recreation, and lots of events are held in this greenspace.
 
A Summer Concert Series is offered weekly from June to August. Presented at the Crescent Amphitheater, these free events feature various acts playing everything from Top 40 to Country. Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater, which has an 18,000-person capacity, is considered the largest outdoor amphitheater in the Denver metropolitan area and is open every year from May to September.
 
At the Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve, the Village’s most significant open space, you’ll find the High Line Canal—one of Colorado’s premier trail networks. It offers breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, wildlife habitats, and natural vegetation.
 
There are also eight equestrian parks and trails in Greenwood Village, great for a casual ride or a leisurely stroll.

  • Cherry Creek High School, 9-12, one of the largest high schools in the Denver Metro Area, with an 80-acre campus
  • Kent Denver School, 6-12, a private, co-educational, college preparatory high school and middle school which traces its origin back to the 1922 founding of the Kent School for Girls
  • St. Mary's Academy, PK-12, a Catholic, independent co-ed day school, attended by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
