Boasting 26 parks and more than 70 miles of trails, Highlands Ranch features more than 2,500 acres of undeveloped land that has been set aside for exploring. There’s also another 8,200 acres of conservation space in the Backcountry Wilderness Area, and outdoor activities abound.
Pickleball, disc golf, fishing ponds, and slacklining are some of the community’s most popular pastimes. Two public skateparks and a myriad of sporting opportunities are also scattered throughout this region.

Things to Do
Chatfield State Park: Located in Douglas and Jefferson Counties, this park centers on Chatfield Reservoir, a 1,423-acre surface area lake fed by the South Platte River and two other creeks, including Plum Creek.
Denver Botanic Gardens: This working farm offers trails and bird-watching spots amid wildflowers, plus a seasonal butterfly house.
Park Meadows Shopping Mega Mall: Park Meadows is an enclosed shopping mall in Lone Tree that features Forever 21, JCPenney, Dillard's, Nordstrom, Macy's, Crate and Barrel, and Dick's Sporting Goods.
